| The Golf Channel is the only television network devoted exclusively to golf 24 hours a day. It features programming that includes more live golf coverage from around the world than all other networks combined. In addition to being the exclusive TV home of the Nationwide Tour and European Tour, The Golf Channel televises competition from the LPGA Tour, Canadian Tour, USGA, PGA of America, Champions Tour, PGA Tour of Australia and Sunshine Tour of Southern Africa. Original programming includes "Golf Central"(news show),"Academy Live" (weekly call-in show allowing viewers to consult with top teaching professionals) and "The Golf Academy" (half-hour instructional programs). Other programming highlights include golf classics, specials and documentaries. The network, which was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and went on the air in January 1995, reaches more than 50 million homes throughout the United States, plus additional homes in Canada and Japan. |
